Pip Terms of Use

Effective Date: 7 September 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Pip music-practice platform available at app.pip-music.com, together with its related software tools, features and services (the “Service”).

These Terms do not apply merely because you visit our public website at playwithpip.com. Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data when you use the Service or visit our website.

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service.

MASTER TERMS

1. Acceptance of the Terms

These Terms form a legal agreement between you and Pip Music Ltd (“Pip”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

By creating an Account and accepting these Terms, you enter into a legal agreement with Pip Music Ltd.

If a Student is under 18, their Parent or Guardian must accept these Terms on their behalf and give permission for them to use the Service. Teachers are responsible for accepting these Terms in relation to their own Accounts.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create an Account or use the Service.

Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use personal data.

2. Definitions

Service

means the Pip music-practice platform, software tools, features and related services made available by Pip.

User

means any person who accesses or uses the Service.

Student

means a User who uses the Service to practise music.

Teacher

means a User who assigns practice activities or provides instructional guidance through the Service.

Parent or Guardian

means a person who has legal responsibility for a Student.

Account

means the user account created to access the Service.

Purchaser

means the adult Student or Parent or Guardian who purchases or manages a paid membership for a Student.

User Content

means any material created, uploaded, or shared through the Service, including:

audio recordingsvideo demonstrationswritten feedbackcommentspractice logsfilesother materials created or uploaded through the Service.

3. Description of the Service

Pip provides software tools designed to support music practice between lessons.

The Service may include features that allow:

Teachers to assign practice activitiesStudents to log practice sessionsStudents to record audio for self-reviewTeachers to upload instructional materialsTeachers to provide written feedbackStudents, Teachers, and Parents to view practice history.

Pip provides software tools only.

Pip does not provide music instruction.

Pip does not supervise students or monitor activity in real time.

Pip does not actively monitor communications or interactions between Teachers and Students, and is not responsible for those interactions.

Teachers are responsible for instruction and their teaching relationships with students.

Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising younger students’ use of the Service.

We may update, improve, modify or discontinue parts of the Service from time to time, subject to any commitments relating to paid memberships in section 9 and any rights you have under applicable law.

4. Eligibility and Age Requirements

You may use the Service if:

you are at least 18 years old; oryou are a Student under 18 and a Parent or Guardian has given permission for you to use it.

Teachers may initiate an invitation for a Student to use Pip. Where the Student is under 18, their Parent or Guardian must complete the relevant permission and account-setup steps before the Student uses the Service.

5. Accounts and Security

To use certain features of the Service you must create an Account.

You agree to:

provide accurate and complete information when creating an Accountkeep your login credentials securenotify us if you believe your Account has been accessed without permission.

You are responsible for activity that occurs through your Account.

Accounts may be linked between Students, Parents, and Teachers to support practice activities.

Where Accounts are linked, information associated with that Account may be visible to the linked user.

6. Acceptable Use

The Service is intended to support music education and practice.

You agree to use the Service responsibly.

You must not:

use the Service for unlawful purposesupload or share content that infringes intellectual property rightsupload content that is abusive, threatening, or harassingimpersonate another personattempt to interfere with the security or operation of the Serviceattempt to access accounts or systems without permission.

If we believe these Terms have been violated or that use of the Service creates risk to users or the Service, Pip may take action where reasonably necessary to protect users or the Service, including:

removing contentrestricting functionalitysuspending Accountsterminating access to the Service.

7. User Content

7.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of your User Content.

7.2 Licence to Pip

By uploading or creating User Content through the Service, you grant Pip a limited licence to host, store, reproduce, display, transmit, back up and otherwise technically process that content only as necessary to provide, secure, maintain and support the Service.

This licence also allows Pip to make User Content available to the Students, Teachers and Parents or Guardians who are entitled to see it through the relevant teaching relationship.

This licence lasts for as long as the content is held as part of the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy and data-retention arrangements.

7.3 Continuity of Practice History

Practice logs, feedback and related materials may remain available to the Student, Teacher and Parent or Guardian as part of the Student’s practice history.

7.4 Responsibility for Content

You are responsible for the User Content you upload.

You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to upload that content.

Teachers are responsible for ensuring that instructional materials they upload do not infringe third-party rights.

7.5 Moderation

We may remove or restrict access to User Content if it violates these Terms or applicable law.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and all materials provided by Pip are protected by intellectual property laws.

This includes:

softwaredesignsgraphicstexttrademarksbranding.

Licence to Use the Service

Subject to these Terms, Pip grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to access and use the Service for its intended purpose of supporting music practice.

You may use the Service only as permitted by these Terms.

You must not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service except as permitted by law.

9. Free Access, Memberships and Payments

9.1 Pip Free and paid membership

Pip may provide both free and paid levels of access to the Service.

Pip Free provides access to a limited set of features without payment. A paid Pip membership provides access to the additional features described when the membership is offered.

The features included in each level may change over time. We will not remove paid features during an active paid membership without reasonable notice, except where a change is necessary for security, legal or technical reasons.

9.2 Six-week free access

Each Student may receive one free-access period, unless we expressly offer otherwise. When a Student first joins Pip, they will receive at least six weeks’ free access to the paid Pip features. The free-access period begins when the Student’s setup is completed, unless we tell the Purchaser that a different date applies.

We may extend the free-access period at our discretion. We will tell the Purchaser when the period is due to end.

No payment details are required to begin the free-access period, and access will not automatically become paid unless a Purchaser actively chooses a paid membership and provides a payment method.

9.3 What happens when free access ends

Before the free-access period ends, we will explain:

the features included in Pip Free and paid Pip membership;the available prices and billing periods;when the first payment would be taken;how the membership renews; andhow to cancel.

If a Purchaser does not choose a paid membership, the Student will move to Pip Free. Their Account will not be deleted solely because the free-access period has ended.

Some existing information may remain visible after the move to Pip Free, but features available only with paid membership may become unavailable. We will explain the practical effect before the change takes place.

9.4 Starting a paid membership

A paid membership begins only when the Purchaser actively selects a membership, agrees to the price and billing period shown, and provides a valid payment method.

Unless stated otherwise, membership is purchased for an individual Student and covers all instruments that Student uses through Pip.

Teachers can use Pip without paying for a teacher membership.

The price, billing period and date of the first payment will be clearly shown before purchase. We will confirm the purchase by email.

9.5 Renewal and cancellation

Paid memberships renew automatically for the billing period selected—monthly or annually—unless cancelled before the next renewal date.

A Purchaser may cancel at any time by contacting support@playwithpip.com or through any cancellation facility made available in the Service. Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless a refund applies, paid access will continue until the end of the period already paid for.

We will make cancellation reasonably straightforward and will not require a Purchaser to contact us by telephone.

9.6 Refunds and cooling-off period

In addition to any statutory rights, a Purchaser may cancel within 14 days after the first payment and receive a full refund.

A Purchaser may also cancel an annual membership within 14 days after an annual renewal payment and receive a full refund of that renewal payment.

Monthly renewal payments are normally non-refundable once the new monthly period has begun, but cancelling will prevent the following payment. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation or other rights provided by law.

9.7 Price changes

We may change membership prices from time to time.

A change will not affect an annual membership during a period that has already been paid for. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before increasing the price of a renewing membership.

If the Purchaser does not wish to pay the new price, they may cancel before it takes effect.

9.8 Payment providers

Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Pip does not normally receive or store complete payment-card details. The payment provider’s own terms and privacy information may also apply.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service may include links to or integrations with third-party services.

Pip does not control those services and is not responsible for their content or policies.

11. Disclaimers

Pip does not guarantee that:

the Service will always be availablethe Service will be error-freeusing the Service will lead to any particular educational outcome.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, or events outside our control.

Pip provides tools that support music practice.

Teachers are responsible for instruction.

12. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any rights or remedies that consumers have under applicable law.

If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was clear that it might happen or if both you and Pip knew that it might happen when you accepted these Terms.

We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If you use Pip for purposes relating to your trade, business or profession, we are not responsible for business losses, including loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity or goodwill.

Pip is not responsible for the independent actions of Teachers, Students, Parents or other Users, including the content or quality of music instruction. However, this does not exclude responsibility for Pip’s own acts or omissions where we are legally responsible.

We take reasonable care in providing the Service, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available or completely free from errors. Nothing in this paragraph affects our responsibility to provide the Service with reasonable care and skill or any other rights you have under consumer law.

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if:

you materially or repeatedly violate these Terms;your use of the Service creates a risk of harm to another person or to the security or operation of the Service; orwe are required to do so by law.

Where reasonably possible, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue before suspending or terminating access. We may take immediate action where necessary to protect Users, the Service or another person, or to comply with the law.

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request closure of your Account by contacting us at support@playwithpip.com.

Suspension, termination or closure of an Account does not affect any rights or obligations that arose beforehand. Provisions which by their nature should continue after termination—including those concerning intellectual property, User Content and liability—will continue to apply.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If a change materially affects Users’ rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable advance notice by email or through the Service. We may ask Users to accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the Service.

Changes will apply from the effective date stated in the updated Terms and will not apply retrospectively.

Changes to paid memberships will not override any specific price or access commitment already made for a period that has been paid for.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also have rights under the mandatory laws of the place where you live, and nothing in these Terms removes those rights. You may bring proceedings in any court entitled to hear your claim under applicable law.

16. Reporting Mechanisms

If you believe content on the Service:

infringes intellectual property rights, orviolates these Terms,

you may report it to us at:

We will review reports and take appropriate action.

17. Copyright Complaints

If you believe that material available through the Service infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, you may notify us at support@playwithpip.com and provide:

a description of the work claimed to be infringeda description of the material believed to be infringingsufficient information to allow us to locate the materialyour contact informationa statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authoriseda statement that the information in your notice is accurate.

Pip may remove or disable access to the material while the issue is reviewed.

Pip may suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly upload infringing content.

18. Miscellaneous

These Terms represent the entire agreement between you and Pip regarding the Service.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms as part of a business reorganisation or sale. We will not assign our obligations in a way that reduces your rights under these Terms.

ROLE ADDENDA

Student / Parent or Guardian Addendum

Parents or Guardians must consent for Students under 18.

Parents may oversee student accounts and practice history and are responsible for supervising a student’s use of the Service.

Teacher Addendum

Teachers remain responsible for instruction and teaching relationships.

Pip is not responsible for disputes between Teachers and Students, including disputes relating to lessons, teaching quality, or payments made outside the Service.

Pip is not responsible for the content or quality of practice notes, feedback, or instructional guidance provided by Teachers.

Teachers must ensure they have the rights and permissions to upload any instructional materials.
